The WeBack Story

As a night runner, they saw a need and decided to do something about it. Who said our best ideas don't happen while on a run?

WHY WE DO IT?

In early 2021, our founder was packing for yet another business trip. He tossed his neck massager into his carry-on — the fourth one he'd bought in two years. The first three were in a drawer, dead: one with a stripped motor, one where the heat element fried, one where the strap just snapped.
This one was "different," he'd told himself. It wasn't.
Two weeks later, the motor started grinding. He emailed customer support. He got an auto-reply. He followed up. He got a coupon code for 15% off his next purchase.
He didn't want 15% off. He wanted a massager that worked.

“He said, ‘I need headlights for my crocs shoes’ and I told him he should just go buy some,” said Rose, figuring that type of product was already on the market. But after doing some research, they realized that their brilliant idea didn’t exist.

The PT Conversation

The first prototype was powerful. It was also — to use the technical term — "way too aggressive." The kneading pattern hit bones. The heat was too hot for some users and too mild for others.
That's when we met Dr. Li, a licensed PT with 15 years of clinical experience. She looked at our prototype, tested it for 90 seconds, and said: "You built a machine. You didn't build a massage."
That feedback reshaped everything. We spent the next six months re-engineering the kneading rhythm — slower on the entry, deeper at the peak, with a release phase that mimics how a human therapist actually works. We adjusted the heat to 113°F — not because it sounded good, but because that's the temperature clinical studies show optimal tissue penetration without discomfort.
Dr. Li has reviewed every WeBack product since. She's not a spokesperson. She's our conscience.

The First 1,000 Customers

We launched on Amazon in late 2021 with one product and zero marketing budget. The first 100 units sold in two weeks — mostly to people searching "neck massager that actually works."
Then the reviews started.
People wrote paragraphs. They described their specific pain — tech neck, post-surgery recovery, pregnancy back pain, 20-year desk jobs. They described the relief. And they described the previous products that had failed them.
Those first 1,000 reviews became our R&D roadmap. Every complaint, every "I wish it also..." — we logged them, categorized them, and built the next product around them.
We don't guess what to make next. Our customers tell us. We listen.

Our Mission

Take one small step to reduce your carbon footprint.

We believe recovery isn't a luxury. It's not a spa-day indulgence. It's not a professional-athlete-only privilege. It's the basic maintenance your body needs after a day of being alive — working, lifting, carrying, hunching, standing, stressing. You brush your teeth every day. You should take care of your muscles too.

We believe in honest engineering. Not "honest" as a marketing word. Honest as in: we show you the specs, we stand behind the specs, and if the specs don't match the product, you return it and we pay the shipping. "Premium" should describe what's inside the product — not what's inside the marketing budget.
